Run, Jew. Run!

They must be laughing at us. A few pipe bomb kassam rockets fired from abandoned Jewish settlements, and the Jews go running. Help us Olmert! Help us Arcady Gaydamak! Save us from the Arab onslaught. Get us out of here! Evacuate us!

And you know what? Even though they are wrong in their thinking that the solution is to be evacuated, they are also absolutely right. Israel should be fighting back. We are more powerful then the Palestinian Authority and their terrorists, and we can clean out Gaza if we stopped worrying more about their civilians’ safety, then our own civilians. So, when the Sderot residents' own leaders refuse to respond to this onslaught of rocket fire on their community, what else can they do? - Except run for it!

The Olmert government is a travesty. They have no right to hold on to power when their citizens are being bombarded by flying bombs and they make no move to eliminate this terror entity. It is akin to a community terrorized by the mafia and the police refusing to go and bust the criminals. Olmert is in trouble. The Winograd report has basically called him a failure and unfit to lead this country. Olmert has the lowest trust of any prime minister in the history of Israel. A recent poll taken showed him having only 3% of the people’s confidence. His defense minister, Amir Peretz, himself from Sderot, seems to show a disdain for his own town, by not acting to stop the carnage.

Of course, it’s not only our leaders who are accomplices to letting Jews be attacked and chased away from their homes. Our puppet government won’t move unless America gives it’s 'ok'. Bush & Co. will NOT let Israel respond in any meaningful manner to stop the terror. Bush has plans to establish a Palestinian State (Road Map & two states living 'side by side in peace') and if Israel re-takes Gaza, this ‘vision for a New Middle East will not materialize. Bush has plans for this region, and they have to do with trade blocks and a centralized global power, as his father, George Bush Sr. has talked about during his time as president.

Of course, our leaders do not HAVE to listen to Bush, but our leaders are weak. Lacking trust in the Almighty, they feel we need to bend to the world’s demands. And so, with the carrot and the stick in front of them, they will bow to the will of the world. ...And it is easy to do so. Our leaders are corrupt (just check all the police investigations going on against a number of Kadima party members).

Our leaders are not patriots anymore; they are only beholden to themselves. If they can promote themselves, stay in power, get more power, and make more money, then they will most likely sell out to foreign powers and their interests. They may convince themselves that we need the world on our side, and that we can't go it alone. They are maybe told, "If you want us to provide defense weapons and airplane parts for you, get with our plan. If you go along with us, it's true, you will be a smaller Israel, but we will help support you. And if you DON'T play ball with us, you will never see the outside of a jail cell again..." The carrot and the stick.

And so our leaders convince themselves that we are better off giving in, not fighting the world, and ‘better that we are a down-sized Israel, than no Israel at all'. But they are wrong. It's the rationalization of the weak. It is evil.

There is little, if any, integrity left in today’s world. There is no sense of shame, there is no sense of responsibility except to one’s self.

With the Winograd report, the unnecessary deaths from the last war in Lebanon, the north of the country in ruins, and now the south of the country under attack, with 150,000 people at a demonstration (representing millions of citizens) calling for Olmert’s resignation, Olmert still refuses to leave. For shame! But Olmert will not budge, because he knows that if he leaves office, he will most likely be on his way to jail. Too many sleazy deals and investigations are catching up with him.

Olmert may just do what Ariel Sharon did when he was prime minister. - Create and implement another ‘disengagement’ to focus the public attention away from his unscrupulous business dealings. Olmert is naming HIS plan, ‘Convergence’. Olmert has called for – not cleaning out the terrorist threat, but cleaning out the Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria!

He is continuing to build a new de-facto border in Israel called ‘The Security Fence”, which essentially cuts off most of the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria from the rest of Israel and we see how small this state is becoming. Olmert will also look to give the Golan to Syria, and divide Jerusalem.

Run, Jew. Run!

What interests me, is the psyche of the Israelis who are interviewed on the radio. Gabi Gazit, a long time IBA radio talk show host was interviewing a woman from Sderot, on his last broadcast, May 16th, 2007. He was asking her what would she say to the Prime Minister if she could speak to him. I expected her to act with normal thinking, and demand the Prime Minister go into Gaza and clean it up once and for all. Instead, she said, Olmert should ‘resign’. She added that if the government could not help them in Sderot against the kassams, then ‘Get us out of here! Evacuate us!’.

Run, Jew. Run!

I asked my husband why the Israelis like the one we just heard on the radio choose the ‘run away’ mode. Why don’t we demand that the government take over Gaza and make the ENEMIES of Israel flee instead? He replied that most Jews don’t think like this woman. It’s just that this is the type of person the Israeli media choose to put on our air waves. He's right.

I remembered the brave Jewish residents that lived in Gaza for years with kassam rocket attacks, -they never asked to leave. They never wanted to flee. They also demanded (like a rational thinking person) that the government go in and retaliate. The problem is, that the main stream media in Israel makes us LOOK weak. They choose to interview the people who say, “FLEE! Take us out of here.” They don’t want to show the brave and patriotic Jews who love the land and want to fight for it, because they know it is worth fighting for. They don’t show all the Jews who state proudly that this is our land, promised to us by G-d. I know there are many Jews in Sderot that want the government to crush the enemy, but you don't hear those people on the radio here. The media makes anyone who does get a chance to come on air and state these things, out to be war mongers, 'primitive' or crazy right wingers who incite to violence.

I believe that Olmert (and politicians like him) wants us to appear weak, so he can convince the country of the need to 'converge' … As he stated in a speech back in June 9, 2005, “We are tired of fighting, we are tired of being courageous, we are tired of winning, we are tired of defeating our enemies….”

Run, Jew. Run!

Make way for the Jew who loves the land above himself. We have plenty today. And we have a whole new generation of Orange Youth who will be ‘converging’ at the ballot boxes.

Your weakness will not pull us down. Your media will not shut us up. Your bowing down to Bush and the International Community will not make us bow.

(Let's face it, I wanted to title this piece, "Mr. Bush, Do These People Really Deserve A State?", but how many of you would have stopped to read that? So I went for the shock factor and now, here you are... )

Dear Mr. Bush,
You often talk about your 'vision for a New Middle East' . You came out with a speech on June 24, 2002 with yet another peace plan, the infamous Road Map - two states living side by side, in peace. You seem to believe that all cultures are morally equal and share the same values, but you are mistaken, and so your peace plan, the Road Map, --and all other efforts you propose to press on this region will go down in history as just another futile peace plan, after:

Camp David Accords (1978), The Reagan Peace Plan (September 1, 1982), Madrid Conference of 1991, Oslo Accords (1993), Wye River Memorandum (October 23, 1998) , The Clinton Peace Plan (December 23, 2000) Mitchell Commission ( October 17, 2000 ), The Tenet Plan (June 10, 2001), Camp David 2000 Summit (2000), Taba summit (January, 2001), The Zinni Plan (March 26, 2002) , Elon Peace Plan (2002), Arab Peace Initiative (March 28, 2002), The 2002 Nusseibeh-Ayalon Principles, The People's Voice (July 27, 2002), March 2002 Saudi Peace Initiative, Geneva Accord (October 20, 2003), Sharm el-Sheikh Summit of 2005 (February 8, 2005), 2006 Franco-Italian-Spanish Middle East Peace Plan, Binational solution , Two-state solution, Saudi peace proposal, Syrian government requests for peace talks (on-going to present),
The Road map

Whew! One gets tired reading through that list.

Your peace plan, the Road Map is just another in a long line of futile and foolish notions of how to make peace with Arab and Islamic Terrorists. Your plans of forming a Palestinian (terror) State in the belly of Israel will bring a bloodbath, not peace. I think you know this as well, but are willing to push this forward anyway, because quite frankly, your 'trade blocks' and MEFTA (Middle East Free Trade Area) treaties, oil deals and the strengthening of a global government are more important to you than Jewish lives. (But that is fodder for a whole other article.)
Israel is the sacrificial lamb to appease the Arab countries whom you want to tie into your MEFTA trade block. Give the PLO a State, and maybe the Saudis will play ball, bring in some other Arab States and wallah, you will have your MEFTA trade block. Few people know, but a major part of the Gaza Disengagement plan was to further the goals of a 'free trade zone' here in Israel, under the guise of 'peace'. It also was pursued by some of our politicians and their advisors, as a great investment in gambling, casinos, and tourist traps, all in the guise of 'peace'. See this article on the Gaza peace plan. We shall leave this topic now, as I digress, and this trade-block subject can fill a whole book.

So now again, we have more peace plans, and Bush is espousing how his 'vision' will create a New Middle East. President Bush is now putting time tables or 'benchmarks' on Israel to implement 'on the ground actions', including making Israel agree to allow PA bus and truck convoys to shuttle between Gaza and (PA-controlled areas of) Judea and Samaria. Israel is expected to remove security roadblock checks in Judea and Samaria, and Israel will be forced to provide arms, ammunition and equipment to PA security forces in an 'immediate and ongoing' manner, whenever U.S. Maj.-Gen. Dayton 'requests' it. U.S. demands on the P.A. is only for them to increase deployment of security forces and begin curbing rocket fire by militants, according to media reports.

President Bush, would you agree to terms like this for your own country with an enemy that commits terror? Would you make a state for Osama Bin Laden in America if he opened up more terror attacks against you? Would you believe him if he signed a peace treaty with the USA promising not to attack, while urging his followers in Arabic to keep up their Jihad?

The Palestinian Authority is run by two other terror organizations, the Hamas and the Fatah. You, Mr. Bush, are helping to fund this entity which is lawless, corrupt, and produces Mickey-Moslem-Mouse characters teaching their children to hate infidels and take over the world. The Arabs in the Palestinian Authority are the same people who danced in the streets and gave out candy when the Twin Towers were attacked and three thousand men, women and children were killed. These are the people who voted, in a free democratic election, to make the Hamas terror group the head of their new government! These are the people who cannot even keep cease-fire agreements between their own terror groups, with the Hamas and the Fatah murdering each other in the streets. These are the people who produces homicide bombers. This is a people where mothers of homicide bombers proclaim their thanks to Allah that their sons became martyrs and strapped a bomb to their chests. These are the people who take money from U.S. tax payers, the EU, and then can't find where the funds went. This is a corrupt and lawless society, and this is the people that you want to make a state for?

President Bush, do these people in the so-called Palestinian Authority REALLY deserve a state of their own? Have they shown any responsibility in running a workable society? Have they shown any responsibility in providing proper services for their own public? Have they cooperated with the world in being a law abiding society? Are they spending money on real education to get them out of the squaller they impose on their people? Have they provided public works, infrastructure and jobs? Or are they sucking on the tit of the Israeli people? And last, have they shown or taken ANY responsibility to prove to the world that if just given the chance, they would be able to support themselves, and be a productive, respected, and independent entity? The answer is a flat 'NO!' All they do is make excuses and blame Israel for their corruption and cultural misery. All they do is produce terror and indoctrinate their children to hate the West and Israel even more.

...And you want to reward this hateful, maniacal and corrupt Palestinian Authority with a state where they can arm themselves with more sophisticated weapons, and be a larger threat and base for terror?

Dear Mr. Bush, Please take your head out of your tush!

Eurovision - Where's the Popcorn?

This blog entry will take a side track from the usual serious stuff.

I just wanted to make a comment on the once a year TV fest I do when I make pop corn and sit in front of the TV and watch the Eurovision Song Contest.

This is where all the countries in Europe and even some parts of the former Soviet Union, Turkey, and Israel compete for the best song. (Israel has won this contest at least three times, once, twice in a row.)

I usually like to sit and watch the glitz and fanfare, and the thousands of people in the audience with their respective flags waving. But MOSTLY, while watching the performances, I sit and laugh with my family and give them NEGATIVE points. Most of the songs are pretty awful, and some of these languages sound really funny when you are not familiar with them. Ok, I know they don't have a fair advantage because most of Europe prefers English or French, but it is funny seeing ballads, pop, punk-rocker and heavy metal songs sung in Turkish or Slavic languages.

This year the contest was held in Helsinki, Finland, because their entry from last year's contest won. I wrote about their winning song in a previous blog entry. This year, Israel was nixed from the competition. We didn't make it to their finals, and there was also a big scandal about our song being too 'political' because it's lyrics spoke about the terror and nuclear threats against Israel.

This year's winner was from Serbia. The entry was called, Molitva or in English, "Prayer". The only problem is, I couldn't figure out if the lead singer was a man or a woman. (Look at the bigger photo above, the one in the suit with the mic in the hand. You tell me.... Hard to tell, man or woman?

I at first thought it was a man, only afterwards when I found out the singer's name was Maria (Maija) did I understand this was a woman.

I just don't know... now that I know this is a woman, I think she looks like a 'manly' Rosie O'Donnell .

I have to say, that I usually sit and have fun giving points to countries, but I wasn't committed this year to the yearly fanfare.

1) Israel was not in the competition, so it wasn't as interesting.

2) The singing was pretty bad this year. The songs may have been ok, but I think the singers were nervous. They held the contest in a giant stadium, and it seemed like their whole population was there.

Finland has a smaller population than Israel. From Wikipedia -- "Finland currently numbers 5,282,583 inhabitants and has an average population density of 17 inhabitants per square kilometre.[1] This makes it, after Norway and Iceland, the most sparsely populated country in Europe.

A lot of the lead singers must have been very nervous singing in front of the large audience. They were real 'pitchy - off tune'. I kept thinking what Simon Cowell would say after their song was over. And so I went to watch America Idol which was on at the same time here in Israel, as the Eurovision broadcast. American Idol has a lot better singers than the BEST of Europe's entries in Eurovsion.

I think we need Simon Cowell to produce the Eurovision Song Contest. It needs some real good critic's eyes, and it would be a lot more entertaining. I think he would beat me on giving out negative points! Hey, where's the popcorn? To watch the video of the Winning Song from Serbia, click HERE.

Oh, and for just some self-depreciation - cause this WAS funny,,,, a cartoon someone sent to Tovia, who (of course) sent it to me - to give me a 'dig'. But I think it is brilliant! It shows the 'score board' of how many times Tovia is right vs yours truly. Of course, his tally is wrong, (He only gave me two points) but in reality, I am the one who is always right on that show, (wink) but I loved the effort of this fan. Oh, and thanks Tovia!!!!

A Sabbath of Gold / Pushing the Wrong Buttons

Oh, and by the way, Israel's song entry for the Eurovision got nixed.

The name of the song was, " Push the Button" and was written and performed by the Israeli band, Teapacks. The lyrics of the song had connotations of the Iranian terror threat on Israel. I wrote about this song in an earlier entry on this blog.

Actually, Israel's IBA news tells us that a technical problem happened while the band was performing their song for the Semi-finals of the Eurovision contest. According to Israel Radio, Technical difficulties occurred during Teapacks' performance. The broadcast got cut out for five seconds and was replaced by a silent red screen.

From the beginning, the Eurovision heads frowned on Israel's message in their song. Arutz 7 reported on previous trouble with this year's entry from Israel. "The lead singer of the group, Kobi Oz held a press conference following the band’s second rehearsal in Helsinki, where he accused Eurovision organizers of making their performance look like “a video game from the 80s.” The group offered as an example of the interference, an animated background that producers had replaced the band’s footage of tanks and explosions with. The new background features an image of the globe becoming blue and white, the colors of Israel’s flag – something Teapacks members speculate is meant to insinuate Jewish influence."

...And suddenly, 5 seconds of the song goes bad. hmmmm

Because part of the song was missing from this tech failure, the Israel Broadcast Authority's delegation to the contest requested that we either be allowed to perform the song again or be given additional points to make up for the lapse. The European Broadcasting Union denied our request.

How convenient! From the beginning, the Eurovision committee did not want this song to be performed in front of the hundreds of millions of viewers who watch the yearly contest from all over Europe and parts of the Middle East. "It's absolutely clear that this kind of message is not appropriate for the competition," said Kjell Ekholm, one of the organizers of the contest. - He was referring to the 'questionable lyrics' of the song 'Push the Button". They didn't like Israel singing a song about how the world wants to destroy them.

And so, Israel is erased from the competition. I wonder if this same technical glitch happened to England or Germany, what the Eurovision judges would do? I doubt they would 'Push the button' on them!

Astrology - What Judaism Has to Say About It.

Today, Rav Ariel Bar Tzadok of http://www.koshertorah.com/ joined me and spoke about the Zodiac and the 12 Tribes of Israel.

I always thought that it was more or less asur (forbidden) to have an astrologic chart made for someone, but I guess that is not true, AS LONG as the person having the chart done knows that it is only, only, only an indicator of what COULD be, but is DEFINITELY not the whole truth.

If one looks at astrology like a personality test one takes from a psychologist, it can be a good tool to explore your personality. It should NOT be used to tell the future. The Arab Rat Who Spied for Hizbullah!

This video is a news clip from Israeli TV news and follows the trail of an Arab Knesset member Azmi Bishara, and how he spied against the country he lives in and supposedly serves. He gives the Hizbullah information on where to aim their missiles at Israel. He then gets paid bakshish (bribe) money by the Hizbullah, which is laundered through a Jordanian money changer.

The Rat Bishara scurried out of Israel and refuses to come back. He knows he will be put in jail or worse...

Lag B'Omer and Living with Terror

I went to a Lag B'Omer bonfire tonight. I will post mostly photos as they will give you a better feel than words. (Sorry about the quality, it was taken with my cell phone.)

The place we went to was Sulam Yaakov, of which I posted a piece below called: "Destroying Jewish Farms, Not Terror".

The bonfire was hosted by the Rachmani Family. They live on this farm all by themsleves. It is about a 10 -15 minute walk up hill to reach the center of the neighboring yishuv, Kochav Yaakov, therefore they need to be very dilligent in their security to protect themselves from Arab terrorists.

Going to this bonfire (as there were dozens to choose from in the area where I live) was a show of support and love for this family and a recognition that we know of the dangers they face being removed from
the more populated area.

Entering into their house

from the front door, you see a large living area with the kitchen off to the left. Only when you go inside, do you see that the house they built is a basic hollow square box. Their bedrooms are adjoining caravans (or tiny trailer homes) that they use as bedrooms. They cut doorways in the house as entry ways to the caravan- sleeping quarters.

Inside the house is Mrs. Rachmani. She showed me and some other guests who were at the bonfire where terrorists tried to break into their home a few months ago. In this photo, she is standing in the living area of her home.

She took us into a small laundry room where there is a washing machine and a back door she can exit throughto hang out the clothes to dry. It was here that the terrorists tried to break in to her home around 1:30 in the morning. (See the broken glass on the bottom of the door in the photo).

The Arab terrorists also tried to get in by wedging the metal door/shutters in the main area of the house, but that didn't work either. Her husband woke up from the noise of the break in attempt and with his gun, scared the terrorists away. The terrorists were armed as well, and Mrs. Rachmani tells me that one of them have been caught and are now in the hands of Israeli security forces.

Thank G-d they are alright, and are here to celebrate Lag B'omer with all of us.

All was very nice at the bonfire. People were milling around, talking and ina good mood. Food and drinks were put out, and chicken was grilled. One of Rachmani's children marched around handing out sticks with marshmellows on them for the other children to roast and eat.

I also went breifly to the army base in the area, as we went to bring some 'simcha' (happiness) to the soldiers, but we were kind of early, even though we were a actually half an hour late for the time they had originally called for it. But this is the middle east, and the middle east doesn't run on the same clock as the West does. Things are much more relaxed here when it comes to work and schedules.

Olmert Actually Did Something Good!

I am laughing my head off. I am watching and listening to the channel 10 news in Israel (thru my computer). I guess I am a real multi-tasker, but any mother I guess learns to multi-task. Anyway, I am watching the news and they are now at Rabin Square in Tel Aviv. They say there are at least 150,000 people there crowded in the square and spilling out into the neighboring streets. What made me slap my knee in laughter was the fact that they were interviewing someone saying that they were hanging signs on the plaza walls for the demonstration to oust the louse, Ehud Olmert. He was a 'left winger' and he was saying that the Settlement Movement of YESHA or YoSH as some call it now, :-( also wanted to hang their signs.

He was remarking to the news reporter that this is the first time that the LEFT AND the RIGHT wing were demonstrating TOGETHER. I had to laugh, because I turned to my husband and said that Olmert has fostered UNITY in Israel. Because of him, the Left and the Right are standing together!!!!!! LOL Love it, love it, love it. Miracles of miracles, the Moshaich must be really close in coming.

Now for some more good news, I GUESS... as there was an accident on the road right near our community, but thank G-d, no one was hurt. You have to see these photos, and I am glad that I had a camera in the car.... this is what we saw on our way to Jerusalem today... And so we pulled over to see what had happened. A car went off the road, crashing through the guard rails, spilling crushed rocks and gravel into the street, and then falling maybe 40 meters down a cliff. The good news is, though the car was crushed badly, the passanger section of the car remained fully intact, with just a shattered windshield. The occupants of the car were unhurt. UNHURT!!! From such a scary fall over a cliff. Clearly they have much to thank G-d for.

I did a radio show this week in which I read a news report that Israel was going to be naming a forest in the north of the country (which was destryed by fires from Hezbollah missiles) after Coretta Scott King. I remarked that a more appropo name for this forest in Israel would be for somone who was actually one of us, a Jew and an Israeli. I suggested that we maybe name it Roi Klein Z"L, for one of our heros of the Second Lebanon War, who in the midst of battle, saved his troops by throwing himself on a grenade in order to absorb the explosion and save his buddies. G-d bless him and may his family be comforted and healed as much as possible.

You may not understand the humor of some of the names he offers below if you are not Israeli.

The words Jews and Israelis have the same meaning:

Jews are people of the tribe of Judah. The tribe of Judah was one of the 12 tribes of Israel. Israel was Jacob and Israel is the new name that G-d gave to him. Israel had 12 sons who later became the 12 tribes of Israel. These 12 tribes who were slaves in Egypt are the ones with which G-d made his covenant and gave them the Torah and its commandments, commanded them to settle down in the land of Israel - a land that he promised to Jacob hundreds years before - to conquer it and to establish a kingdom of priests.

In 722 B.C. the Assyrians conquered the north part of the Israeli kingdom and exilled 10 tribes (9 tribes plus parts of the Levi tribe who didn't have an estate of their own, parts of the tribe of Levi were scattered amongst all the other tribes) amongst the 12 tribes of the children of Israel and these 10 tribes lost their faith, became gentiles and assimilated with them.

The Jews nowadays worldwide and in Israel are the descendants of 3 tribes: Judah, Levi and Benjamin (and some of them from the tribe of Menashe). Judah was the biggest tribe which settled in the Judean desert, then the Romans who conquered the land of Israel 2000 years ago called all the children of Israel "Jews"

Zuheir Mohsen is widely known for having made the following statement in a March 1977 interview with the Dutch newspaper Trouw:

Couple of facts about Israel that the haters of Israel don't like:

1. Israel became a state in 1312 B.C., two millennia before Islam.

2. Arab refugees from Israel began calling themselves "Palestinians" in the 1960's (1967), two decades after (modern) Israeli statehood in 1948.

3. After conquering the land in 1272 B.C., Jews ruled it for a thousand years and maintained a continuous presence there for 3,300 years.

4. The only Arab rule following conquest in 633 B.C. lasted just 22 years.

5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem was the Jewish capital. It was never the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even under Jordanian rule, (East) Jerusalem was not made the capital, and no Arab leader came to visit it.

6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the bible, but not once is it mentioned in the Qur'an.

7. King David founded Jerusalem; Mohammed never set foot in it.

8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem; Muslims face Mecca. If they are between the two cities, Muslims pray facing Mecca, with their backs to Jerusalem.

9. In 1948, Arab leaders urged their people to leave, promising to cleanse the land of Jewish presence. 68% of them fled without ever setting eyes on an Israeli soldier.

10. Virtually the entire Jewish population of Muslim countries had to flee as the result of violence and pogroms.

11. Some 630,000 Arabs left Israel in 1948, while close to a million Jews were forced to leave the Muslim countries.

12. In spite of the vast territories at their disposal, Arab refugees were deliberately prevented from assimilating into their host countries. Of 100 million refugees following World War 2, they are the only group to have never integrated with their co-religionists. Most of the Jewish refugees from Europe and Arab lands were settled in Israel, a country no larger than New Jersey, USA.

13. There are 22 Muslim countries, not counting Palestine. There is only one Jewish state.

14. Fatah and Hamas constitutions still call for the destruction of Israel.
Israel ceded most of the west bank and all of Gaza to the Palestinian authority, and even provided it with arms.

15. During the Jordanian occupation, Jewish holy sites were vandalized and were off limits to Jews. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian holy sites are accessible to all faiths.

16. Out of 175 United Nations Security Council resolutions up to 1990, 97 were against Israel; out of 690 general assembly resolutions, 429 were against Israel.

17. The U.N. was silent when the Jordanians destroyed 58 synagogues in the old city of Jerusalem. It remained silent while Jordan systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives, and it remained silent when Jordan enforced apartheid laws preventing Jews from accessing the temple mount and western wall.

Destroying Jewish Farms, Not Terror

Never mind the Arab terrorists. It's the horrid Jewish settlers that are at fault again... and the government won't stand for it.

Just one day after the country celebrated Israel's 59th Independence Day, specialy trained police forces (Yassam-nikim) and army came with a bulldozer and destroyed a lone tent-like shelter built for visitors at the Sulam Yaakov Farm, 10 kilometers (6 miles) north of Jerusalem.

The farm, built together by a few families from the village of Kochav Yaakov, once served as a petting zoo with goats and other farm animals. Groves of olive trees were also planted on the site to help restore the land of Israel. Shmuel and Sarah Rachmani, former residents of Kochav Yaakov, live on the Sulam Yaakov (Jacob's Ladder) Farm today, with their children. But the roar of the bulldozer, the crashing of the structure and the show of police force on the farm has traumatized this peaceful pioneer family.

"It was Wednesday morning, about 8:15 or 8:30, and I saw about 6 people in civilian clothing wandering around the area. I figured it must be workers from the electric company." says Sarah Rachmani. "My husband said that we should go out and ask them if maybe they want something to drink. When we got there, we saw they were not from the electric company. Just then, the uniformed security forces swarmed in, and a bull dozer roared in and swiftly mowed down the 'scha-cha' (visitors' tent). The destruction was terrible and traumatic. We protested and begged them to stop, but to no avail. They finished the job within minutes. We were not notified that the police would be sending forces to bulldoze it. The whole ordeal was very frightening!"

The irony of this use of force must be noted. A terror war is raging in the south of the country. Kassam rockets are being launched by terror groups from the Palestinian Authority into the homes of Jewish residents in Sderot, but the government apparently decided that their security forces would be better utilized destroying a make-shift tent at the Sulam Yaakov Farm. The structure, made from wooden posts and aluminum sheeting (like a permanent 'succa' or Scha-cha in Hebrew) was built for visitors to the farm to escape the blazing heat of the sun. It was also used as a place to hold Sabbath services for residents of Kochav Yaakov who would walk there to experience prayer in a more natural surrounding.

The Sulam Yaakov Farm overlooks an important road which leads to the Jewish communities of Psagot and Kochav Yaakov (seen in the background of above photo). Jewish presence on this hill is neccessary to help maintain security, and to keep Arab terror at bay. It helps to distance any terrorist acts like sniper shootings at families traveling to and from their homes in the nearby Jewish communities. Before there was Jewish presence there, Arabs would come in from a few kilometers away to destroy and pull up all that was planted.

According to the Kochav Yaakov newspaper, police forces, yasmanikim, army, and the civilian authority raided the Jacob's Ladder Farm around 8:30 in the morning and destroyed the visitors' tent in front of Rachmani's wife and children. "We protested against this act to the commander of the forces there. Now we must look ahead, and stand together as one, as to what might come in the future, G-d forbid... we call all the public to go and protest against these acts."The commander of the security forces who had the site bulldozed claims that the action was done with the knowledge of the local YESHA council, yet the local governing body of the yishuv said they were not informed of the demolition plans.

Some of the questions that need to be asked here are:

1) Why is this of such importance to the State of Israel's leaders, that this simple visitors' tent be destroyed?

2) Why was taxpayers' money used to send 2 police vans filled with yasmanikim, and also army troops to bulldoze something that is of no significance to keeping the public safe, while our bretheren are being bombarded by rockets down south?

3) How much money was spent to finance this fiasco? Dozens of police and security men were The government needed to pay dozens of security forces for this senseless action, in addition to hiring a bulldozer to come all the way out there and bulldoze some aluminum walls and some wooden posts.

4) This area, as seen in the photos, is nowhere near any Arab homes or near 'anywhere' for that matter. It is out in the hills of the Benjamin council region, the part of Israel that was alocated to the tribe of Benjamin. Who is it bothering then? The Europeans? The world's anti-Semites? Who?

I am posting this story on my blog because I know the family personally, and I went today to take a few photographs after I heard what happened this week, but it should be posted in the Israeli press. The whole episode is absurd! Bombs are flying in the southern part of the country, but our forces are apparently better utilized destroying 'visitor tents' and 'Houses of G-d', than fighting terror. The day before the destruction in the Sulam Yaakov Farm (on Israel Independence Day) the Hamas terror group fired twenty (yes, I said TWENTY) rockets laden with explosives at Israel's southern city of Sderot. Twenty rockets in one hour(6am-7am) aimed at civilian targets! More rockets were launched later in the day by other terror groups in the Palestinian Authority against Jewish homes and schools.

Our government leaders show restraint and patience towards terrorists, but lack the same tolerance and restraint for Jewish needs. I guess the terrorists, and the Palestinian Authority that funds and protects them, are not dangerous, but synagogues on farms overlooking Jewish access roads are. Jewish buildings must be destroyed, and not be tolerated. Terror can.

Feeling Like Fred Flintstone

Do you remember Fred Flintstone? Do you remember that whenever he would get embarrassed, he would shrink in the cartoon to the size of Tom Thumb? Well, this novice blogger feels that way now. I am very tiny at this moment because I have to look up at you with hat in hand and ask for your vote if you have at all liked my blog or learned anything from it.

I only heard about these awards last year, and it seems that my blog was nominated in one (actually 2) of their many different categories, so now I am thrust in the turmoil of the JIB Awards (Jewish & Israeli Blogs). Why turmoil? Because if already my name appears on their list of bloggers, for the category of BEST NEW BLOG, I at least want to finish respectfully.

I also found out that I was nominated for Best Right Wing Blog. Gee, I wish someone had bothered to let me know. I was looking through all the different categories and by chance, I found my blog nominated there as well.

Unbecoming Behavior of the Daughters of Israel

This 'California Girl' (me) is not a prude. I grew up in the land of sun and fun. There is a time and place for being care-free and then a time for using your brains. What I saw taking place in downtown Jerusalem this last week really was not only embarrassing, but worrying.

It was Wednesday, and I was at one of the busiest meeting places in Jerusalem, "Zion Square". It's the place where the busiest street in Jerusalem (Jaffa Street) hooks up with a pedestrian mall. I went there to meet family who were visiting from California.Our university students need help. They need to use their brains, not their bodies. The first things I noticed, when arriving at the square, were drums and music which filled my ears.

Now, I love Ben Yehuda Street which has become this pedestrian mall. It was a place where I spent much time when I was single. It is hip and has a diverse population which gives just the right spice to the normal myriad of shoppers and cafe goers.

I frequently see immigrants from Russia playing violins, American and British travelers with guitars, fire juggling Israeli youth, older, former opera singers, and even artists selling funky jewelry in the plaza. The street bustles with intersting people, sometimes even foreigners who dress in togas and think they are the Messiah, but it's anchored into reality by the regular Jerusalemites who fill the area having lunch and doing business. I love it.

What mostly got my attention on this day though, aside from hearing loud drumming, was the crowd of people standing around watching something besides the impromptu band there. It was the daughters of Israel circling around in erotic Biblical abandon style dancing(not shown in photo).

Sorry to be so grotesque in my description, but that is what it was, and that is why there was a crowd of

young and old men snapping away with their cameras. I am not showing you the more provocative pictures, but you will notice that the dancers are almost entirely female, and the on-lookers, almost entirely males.

The reason these women were dancing was of course obvious.... it was a student demonstration against a proposed hike in university tuitions. The two go together, don't they? Angry students who want an education, and dancing in skin tight clothing, gyrating in a very public square. They were part of a nationwide organization representing university students who launched an open-ended boycott of classes, in an effort to force the government to reduce tuition and increase the budget for higher education. The students were upset about a possible hike in tuition. A pledge to lower tuition fees at Israeli universities by 50 percent was made by a previous government headed by PM Ehud Barak in 2001. It never was fulfilled.

Education has suffered a substantial cut in its budget the last few years, and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Education Minister Yuli Tamir and Finance Minister Abraham Hirchson have recently appointed "The Shochat Committee" to possibly make even more cuts, and raise tuitions.

I can understand why the students were upset but they can garner the public's sympathy, if done in the proper manner.

How about instead bringing foldable tables and studying outside with signs saying they have no money to afford a formal education?

Or how about them standing in a line taking turns reading out loud letters of how they want to better their lives and enter the professional fields, but can't do it if they have to pay extra tuition fees?

I've been to a zillion demonstrations, for a myriad of valid reasons. Abandoned dancing was never our choice when trying to get our point across to the public. The dancing of these 'daughters of Israel' didn't get their point across either. It was more a seduction show, than a serious display of the Israeli students' plight. In fact, if someone didn't know Hebrew, of which there were many passing through this area, then the reason for the demonstration wouldn't even have been understood.

I failed to see why these students protested in this way. It actually turned off someone like me who thinks that one shouldn't have to be rich in order to be able to afford to get higher education. In addition to their very un-professional and adolescent display, they had taped pictures of the face of Ehud Olmert onto the plaza floor, where they had students and passers by stepping and trouncing on the Prime Minister. I saw one student holding the same photo of Prime Minsiter Ehud Olmert, and publicly crumble it up in her hands in protest.

I couldn't help but think, if this would have been a demonstration by anyone on the right wing, it would be all over the news... "Settlers Trample the Prime Minister" or "Yeshiva Students Incite to Violence on P.M." The Left would be having a hey-day about it.

Not a word though when it is done by the secular university students, the future leaders of our country. And yet, even this fact doesn't strike that much of a chord with me, but what really hurt me was the provocative dancing in a public thoroughfare by our young female students . Our 'daughters of Israel' were dancing with arms flailing, high leg kicks and hips gyrating (not shown in photo).

They reminded me of the Biblical story of when the Jews were in the desert and the Midianite women came to entice the Princes of Israel to perversity. Have our children totally lost their dignity? Do they even realize that they have become like the wanton nations of the world and adopted their values? Do they really think that this is a proper way to hold a protest for a legitimate complaint?

Our university students need help. They need to use their brains, not their bodies.

And finally, if this is what our universities churn out, perhaps we should re-think our support for these campuses. Perhaps we need to fund instead, an injection of proper values and professional and dignified behavior for our future lawmakers, teachers and entrepreneurs.

My guest was Holocaust Studies educator Debby Jacoby. Debby and I are both 2nd generation survivors ourselves and we share some of our personal stories.

Debby also takes us through the harrowing day her father and his family were forced out of their home, put on a train and sent to Auschwitz to be gassed.

One thing that I did not add in the radio interview with Debby is that my father also did not talk much about the Holocaust. I had to hear some of the stories through my mother, until many years later, when I was an adult and my father started to open up and share more. I was going to Poland to see the concentration camps and would be near his city where he was from, Lodz. My father was pushed into the Lodz ghetto by the Nazis when the Jews were forced to leave their homes.

All I remember when I was younger was that stuffed deep in my dad's drawer were postcards from the holocaust. They were pictures of piles of naked dead bodies. I can't imagine who published these photos in the format as 'post cards'. I mean, who would want to send a post card with naked dead bodies of men, women and children on it to someone? "Hi mom, I went to Poland and here is what I saw.... having a great time, Adolph." Sheesh! Anyway, I remember staring at these photos secretly, and then putting them back in the stack of other papers in the drawer. Some other memories I had -I spoke of on the show. Of course there are more memories, but I don't really feel like sharing it all now. Perhaps it just has helped to mold and shape me into who I am today and why I make some of the decisions I do. I am hardened a bit, and very stubborn and straight forward. Those are the qualities that made my father survive the Holocaust.

I am also posting for you all the lyrics and video to a beautiful song sung by Ofrah Haza, --I call her Israel's 'Princess Diana', as she was even more precious to the Israeli people. She was a great singer, with a voice that could lift one to the clouds. She was Israel's flower, and we were all shocked at her sudden death at such a young age and with such a promising future. One of the songs she sings is called: L'orech HaYam.

This song is often played on Israel radio stations in times of sadness... i.e. Holocaust Day, Memorial Day for Israel's Fallen Soldiers, and of course when there is a terror attack. It is a hauntingly beautiful song. To view the video, click here.

Fatah and Hamas - Is There REALLY a Difference?

Clap your hands! Raise your arms and dance! Happy Days are here again. Now there will be peace.

Well, if not peace, then at least a real hope for peace, as the

Fatah and the Hamas have agreed to form a unity 'government' .

But does it make a difference? IS there any difference between the Fatah (PLO) and the the Hamas?

We are fed by the media and by the governments of the world pushing the 'peace process' that the fatah/PLO has changed, and now will work towards peace with israel, striving to live side by side with us. The Fatah and its leader Mahmood Abbas are supposed to be 'moderates'. They wear suits and ties. They were supposed to have changed their charter after the Oslo Accords, to stop their armed struggle. They never did this. They never revised their charter.

Which is Fatah and which is the Hamas?

Both are publicly parading with weapons they use (or plan to use) on Israel.
Which photo is which? Which is Fatah and which is the Hamas? Both are publicly parading with weapons they use (or plan to use) on Israel.

Both are terror entities. Both have planned and committed terror attacks against Israelis. Both continue to work for the destruction and demise of the Jewish State. The only real difference is that the Hamas is more religious oriented, while the Fatah/PLO is less focused on Islam.

Article 1: Palestine is the homeland of the Arab Palestinian people; it is an indivisible part of the Arab homeland, and the Palestinian people are an integral part of the Arab nation.

Article 2: Palestine, with the boundaries it had during the British Mandate, is an indivisible territorial unit.

Article 3: The Palestinian Arab people possess the legal right to their homeland and have the right to determine their destiny after achieving the liberation of their country in accordance with their wishes and entirely of their own accord and will.

Article 4: The Palestinian identity is a genuine, essential, and inherent characteristic; it is transmitted from parents to children. The Zionist occupation and the dispersal of the Palestinian Arab people, through the disasters which befell them, do not make them lose their Palestinian identity and their membership in the Palestinian community, nor do they negate them.

Article 5: The Palestinians are those Arab nationals who, until 1947, normally resided in Palestine regardless of whether they were evicted from it or have stayed there. Anyone born, after that date, of a Palestinian father - whether inside Palestine or outside it - is also a Palestinian.

Article 6: The Jews who had normally resided in Palestine until the beginning of the Zionist invasion will be considered Palestinians.

Article 7: That there is a Palestinian community and that it has material, spiritual, and historical connection with Palestine are indisputable facts. It is a national duty to bring up individual Palestinians in an Arab revolutionary manner. All means of information and education must be adopted in order to acquaint the Palestinian with his country in the most profound manner, both spiritual and material, that is possible. He must be prepared for the armed struggle and ready to sacrifice his wealth and his life in order to win back his homeland and bring about its liberation.

Article 8: The phase in their history, through which the Palestinian people are now living, is that of national (watani) struggle for the liberation of Palestine. Thus the conflicts among the Palestinian national forces are secondary, and should be ended for the sake of the basic conflict that exists between the forces of Zionism and of imperialism on the one hand, and the Palestinian Arab people on the other. On this basis the Palestinian masses, regardless of whether they are residing in the national homeland or in diaspora (mahajir) constitute - both their organizations and the individuals - one national front working for the retrieval of Palestine and its liberation through armed struggle.

Article 9: Armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine. Thus it is the overall strategy, not merely a tactical phase. The Palestinian Arab people assert their absolute determination and firm resolution to continue their armed struggle and to work for an armed popular revolution for the liberation of their country and their return to it. They also assert their right to normal life in Palestine and to exercise their right to self-determination and sovereignty over it.

Article 10: Commando action constitutes the nucleus of the Palestinian popular liberation war. This requires its escalation, comprehensiveness, and the mobilization of all the Palestinian popular and educational efforts and their organization and involvement in the armed Palestinian revolution. It also requires the achieving of unity for the national (watani) struggle among the different groupings of the Palestinian people, and between the Palestinian people and the Arab masses, so as to secure the continuation of the revolution, its escalation, and victory.

Article 11: The Palestinians will have three mottoes: national (wataniyya) unity, national (qawmiyya) mobilization, and liberation.

Article 12: The Palestinian people believe in Arab unity. In order to contribute their share toward the attainment of that objective, however, they must, at the present stage of their struggle, safeguard their Palestinian identity and develop their consciousness of that identity, and oppose any plan that may dissolve or impair it.

Ok, I lied to you. This is NOT the Hamas Charter. It is the PLO/Fatah Charter, the charter of the 'Moderates'. These terrorists are supposed to be the good guys, the 'moderate' ones, the ones that are seeking peace with Israel. After reading this PLO/Fatah charter, do you believe it is looking for peace with Israel? Does this group even agree to live side by side with an Israel, or is the whole charter saying there is no legitimacy for Israel, and that only a 'Palestine' can replace it?

Sadly, the Fatah and the Hamas want more of this for us here in Israel:

I have more graphic and gruesome photos I can post, but those would be too difficult for most people to view. These three above give enough of an idea of the brutality of these terrorists on innocent people. But I have said this again and again, if the public saw what a terror scene really looked like, they would be so enraged, so incensed, that they would demand an end to the pussy-footing around with these so-called peace processes.

Mr. Olmert, read their charter. Read their charter!

Eurovision Song Contest -- Then and Now

I won't comment about our song entry for this year's Eurovision song contest.
Israel's song choice is controversial and I have not yet made up my mind about it, though when I do, I will probably feel strongly about it...

Our entry this year: "Push the Button" by Teapacks
When I first heard it, I gawked, "Oh my Gawwwd!" I was pretty taken aback. But then reading about the choice in some featured articles, I started to ponder my first reaction. Maybe this is a good, "stick it to yuh, Europeans" from Israeli citizens who are constantly being threatened and attacked by our neighbors, while Europe feeds the beast and tells us that we are the guilty ones.

One thing I would like to comment on, is that anyone who takes offence to Israel's song choice, and says it is not proper for the Eurovision contest, need only look at last year's entry that WON the contest from Finland. They were dressed like Monster - Viking - Klingons in heavy metal garb and ghoulish barbaric faces giving one of the most violent and gruesome impressions ever. Their fingernails alone could slice a human in half.
But they not only participated, they took away the award!

So go figure, what is taste these days? Perhaps it is better to forfeit the contest's number one spot and just get the message through, that their contest that feigns to promote peace and love, ignores any real truth to the matter. If we just bring that message to the millions of viewers, perhaps we will come out the real winners?

Bush and His Dream For a 'New World Order'

Code Words: FREE TRADE FREE TRADE FREE TRADE

This is what I have been talking about on the show for so long now, how the world is being pulled into a centralized body of governance based on TRADE, which means, a lot of MONEY.

For the world to go 'global', in essence, is not a bad idea. We know we shall do this when the Messiah comes and we will all be united, but it matters what people unite UNDER. If people unite under G-d and morality and ethics, then the world would be better for it. If the world unites under the Nazi dogma, then we know it would bring evil. So too it would eventually turn out very bad if the nations of the world were to unite under a conglomerate who has MONEY as it's upper most value and goal. That would mean it would be 'business as usual' to rape companies, under-pay or squeeze workers around the world, rob or even murder, as the goal is to make MONEY, not be an ethical 'nice guy'. Want to make money? Open a 'free trade zone' and build some casinos, they rake in millions. So what if loan sharks follow and families go broke.

We know that uniting under TRADE (Money Making) will ultimately bring more injustice to the world, so big companies can make even more money. ,Say goodbye to the freedoms we enjoy today, if it will stand in the way of profit. Uniting under the WTO and U.N. (World Trade Organization/ United Nations) into a trade block with WTO workers arbitrating between countries means that we citizens around the world, will be beholden to people who were never elected by us, and who do not share our values. The people behind the scenes are concerned only with their own profits.

What about the Mid-East and oil money? We have MEFTA (Mid East Free Trade Area) inaugurated by none other, than George Bush Jr. the current president of the United States. So if Israel has to be sacrificed to appease the Arab States, then so be it. The most important thing is that a trade block is formed here, so the business Elite around the world can make money.

Watch this video, it shows how the leaders of this world are intricately involved and are fully cooperating. I would assume that many of the big-business people funded these politician's campaigns, and so in a way, own them. Is this what you want? Leave a comment.

I was doing a radio show last week when this idea came to mind. Read on...

If I said that you (the reader of this article) was a spy for a foreign country, you would laugh it off. Because who am I? I am relatively unknown and don't hold any international prestige. But if Henry Kissinger, or someone else famous in the political arena published a book and named you as a spy, you would take that VERY seriously. So would anyone else reading that book, because Kissinger served in a very high position, therefore it would be assumed that he would know, right?

Conversely, if Iranian Leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the State of Israel was the reason that there is no peace in the Middle East, and that the Jews were practicing Apartheid, most people around the world who have even a simple grasp of political realities would know that he is an anti-Semite, and therefore would not take what he says as having any validity. They KNOW he is an anti-Semite and that he wants to destroy the nation of Israel.

This is why the new book written by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter called, 'Palestine: Peace, not Apartheid' is so dangerous. Jimmy Carter always seemed to show himself on camera as a very gentle, soft spoken southern gentleman, devoted to his religious beliefs, and almost always with a smile on his face, showing he was a warm and non-threatening person. But beneath that friendly looking smile seems to lie a deep prejudice against the Jewish people.

Monroe Freedman, (now a professor of law at Hofstra University), served on the Holocaust Memorial Council during Carter's term as president. Part of his job was to present to Carter, names of those to be approved for the board of the Holocaust Memorial Council. In an article that was published in World Net Daily, January 25, 2007, ?Jimmy Carter: Too many Jews on Holocaust council? about 80% of the board members Monroe recommended were Jewish, the rest were Gentiles. Freedman said that after submitting his list, Carter complained. Monroe says his memo was returned with a note, in Carter's handwriting, and initialed by him, on the upper right hand corner stating "Too many Jews". Monroe was then given instructions by the White House to add more non-Jews to the board of the Holocaust Memorial Council. After compiling a new list, another legitimate candidate was rejected. Monroe stated in the article, "I got a phone call from our liaison at the White House saying this particular historian whose name sounded Jewish would not do. The liaison said he would not even take the time to present Carter with the possibility of including the historian on the board because he knew Carter would think the name sounded too Jewish. I explained the historian is Presbyterian, but the liaison said it wouldn't matter to Carter."

Who would imagine this sort of anti-Semitism behind Carter?s benign smile and soft spoken voice?

As to the title of Carter's new best seller book, 'Palestine: Peace not Apartheid' :

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word 'apartheid' means:

1 : racial segregation; specifically : a former policy of segregation and political and economic discrimination against non-European groups in the Republic of South Africa

2 : Separation, Segregation

None of these are true for Israel. There is no racial segregation in Israel. Arabs who are CITIZENS of the State of Israel not only live together with us, but serve as teachers, doctors, lawyers, and judges in Israeli courts. They are elected and serve in the Knesset, Israel?s parliament. Arabs who are citizens of Israel enjoy more freedoms here, than in their own Arab countries where dictatorships and oppressive Islamic laws abound.

For Jimmy Carter to claim that Israel denies rights to a person due to his/her race is preposterous. Carter obviously does not know the meaning of the word Apartheid which he uses in the tile of his book. I KNOW what apartheid is.

I visited South Africa in the late 70's when Apartheid was in affect there and saw it in action. There were separate busses, separate bus stops, separate bathrooms, separate schools, just about separate 'everything' there. Black South Africans certainly weren't allowed to live in the open suburbs where the white people settled. And it wasn?t only if you were black. Apartheid applied to all 'colored' people. That means if you were from a place like India, and were brown skinned, it categorized you as a 'colored' and so you did not enjoy the rights of the 'White' race.

Perhaps Carter wants to portray Israel as racist because of Arabs who complain about having to go through security check points on the roads? If so, this is a false claim of apartheid.

Because of the Arab terror that threatens Israel daily, IDF soldiers are stationed in vulnerable spots on roads leading to heavily populated cities. All vehicles traveling these roads, regardless if they are Israeli or Arab, must pass through these check points. Soldiers scan all vehicles in an attempt to catch suicide bombers or vehicles smuggling in explosive devices . This means, even if you are Jewish, and have served in the army (IDF), you too will have to wait in (sometimes) long lines to be checked before you are allowed to continue on to Israeli population centers. There is nothing racial here. All suffer this inconvenience, Jews and Arabs alike. Yet Carter says that Israel ?perpetrates even worse instances of apartness, or apartheid, than we witnessed even in South Africa?, Haaretz news service reports.

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz attempted to de-bunk Jimmy Carter through a public debate, on the contents of his book, ?Palestine: Peace not Apartheid?, which was filled with errors, omissions, and an anti-Israel bias. But the former U.S. President declined to debate the Professor. This, after Carter said the reason he wrote the book was because he wanted to encourage more debate! So then why is he running from it?

And so, one can only come to the conclusion that Jimmy Carter is, under his soft words and gentle smile, an anti-Semite, and a dangerous one. He seems to hide this anti-Semtism under a friendly smile, while conspiring to do harm to the Jewish people.

It is time to start a new awards ceremony, exposing the anti-Semites of the world who hide under innocent masks and clever words. Because if it was a Nazi writing lies about the Jews, the average person would know better. Not so when these lies come from a former U.S. president, purporting to be an honest broker for peace.

We need to identify people who operate like this, to let the world know who is an anti-Semite, and so give the average person a little foreknowledge. One should know when reading books like Carter's, that he's known for being an anti-smite, then they can take his word with more than a grain of salt when he talks about Israel and the Jewish people.

And so... (drum beat please), we award former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, with the 2006 'Anti-Semite of the Year' award.

This Was Kind of Amazing! Sorry, this winter has not been too kind to me, it's the first time I have ever been so sick, with one thing after another. Usually I am pretty healthy (thank G-d).

I have posted the link here of the actual hanging of Hussein. It doesn't stop just before he falls through the trap door. It shows his broken neck and dead body afterwards.

Some people may be squeamish, and others may think that it is not proper to watch a person die. However, in certain cases, it is my opinion that it is therapeutic to see one's enemy get what they deserve. Let me give you two examples of what I am speaking about.

It says in the Torah, parashat Beshalach 14:30 "...And Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the sea shore. (31) Israel saw the great hand that HASHEM inflicted upon Egypt; and the people revered HASHEM, and they had faith in HASHEM and in Moses, His servant.
15:1 Then Moses and the Children of israel chose to sing this song to Hashem, and they said the following: I shall sing to Hashem for He is exalted above the arrogant, having hurled the horses with its rider into the sea. .....

Here, we see the Children of Israel, former slaves to Pharoah, finally see justice meted out on their oppressors. It was therapeutic for them to see the bodies of the Egyptian soldiers washed up on the sea shore. Justice was done, and they merited seeing this with their own eyes.

Another more recent example, is my father, a survivor of the Holocaust. The Nazis came into Poland where my grandfather (his father) owned a factory that made material (textiles) and handkerchiefs. The Nazis threw my grandfather, grandmother, my father and his brother, out of their home. With only what they could carry, they forced them into a ghetto and caged them there, where starvation and death awaited them. To make a long story short, my father saw the Nazis come for his father, to take him away for 'questioning', where they beat him to death. Working as a slave laborer in the ghetto, he and his mother and brother were slowly starving to death. They witnessed beatings, hangings, torture, and genocide. Towards the end of the war, he himself was forced to board a train to Auschwitz, but escaped the trip by hiding under a pile of coal. I am sharing this with you because years later, when speaking with my father about this period of his life (he would not talk about the holocaust for years and years, it was too painful for him), he said that if he could have had seen the Nazis DEAD, he would have felt some closure for the suffering he went through. (not see them being killed per se, but seeing the bodies after the fact) Just to see, view, the dead bodies of these monsters who murdered his father, and most of his extended family, the monster-people who stole his childhood, his community, his world.

My father, and the many holocaust survivors, wanted to see JUSTICE. And the fact that many of these, no, most of these monsters escaped justice and were living a comfortable life in Argentina, or under another name in Germany, left a gaping wound in these survivors. They never got the 'closure' of seeing their enemies, these monsters, get what they deserved. And so, with this, I offer anyone who would want to see the complete video of the hanging of this monster, Saddam Hussein, the chance to see justice done. Saddam Hussein who tried to make a genocide against his own citizens, the Kurds. This man, 'SoDamn Insane' (Saddam Huseein)who sent dozens of missiles that slammed into Israeli cities in the first Gulf War, even though Israel had no dealings or contact with Iraq, and therefore no motive for Saddam Hussein to want to destroy Israel and the Jewish People here, except for his vile and evil hatred. This man, Saddam Hussein who paid at least $25,000 dollars to Arab families who had children that would volunteer to become suicide bombers, and murder as many Jews as possible here in Israel. I say, "Good riddance!. It's about time we saw some justice for the innocent victims of this evil, evil man". Watch video: (warning: may be offensive to some viewers).

Is It All Going To The U.N. ?

I've been getting lots of letters about the Sunday Weekend Edition Show I did Nov. 26 th. We spoke about the slow encroaching power of the United Nations and how it is obtaining a type of ownership of historical or natural importance to different nations states. They take this type of ownership via UNESCO and the World Heritage organization/committee. Some of the sites that are now under UNESCO and World Heritage (United Nations) are:
Yellowstone National Park (1978)
Grand Canyon National Park (1979)
Independence Hall (1979)
Statue of Liberty (1984)

I thought the Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to America, not the U.N. Does this bother you that the UN should take sovereignty over these places? There are over 800 properties around the globe that are now under World Heritage (United Nations). It bothers me.

"Today I was listening to Tamar Yonah and on her show there was a brief mention of the fact that Yellowstone Ntl Park & others were overseen by the UN. I vaguely remembered that discussion years back so decided to update myself on it. What I found was shocking. I am forwarding to you a brief summary of a few general topics from the official website, but just know that we are talking about massive massive amounts of land and "historical" sites coming under the jurisdiction of the UN.

Of particular concern of course is the land in Israel that is listed. When you bring up the website, click on The Lists & all the countries and the property will appear. It is extensive to say the least. In Israel are cities and places like Masada, HarMegiddo, Beersheva, etc. but most importantly (significantly listed separate from Israel) is Jerusalem's Old City. You will note that it lists this site as an endangered site, giving the UN more international access.
All of these countries have given permission for the site to be internationalized. That means the United States ok'ed it for all its national parks, (do you remember voting for it??) & Israel gave permission (although it LOOKS like the Old City is still ' pending')
Also of interest is that fact that the whole of Vatican City is under UN control. (or vice versa) Reading through the material it is made to look like the countries where the sites actually lie still "own" the property, but if you read further, the oversite of the international communities can "decide" how to manage that site whenever they sense it is "in danger".

Inspiration and Celebration in Tel Aviv
A first in recent memory: A new Torah Scroll procession complete with music and singing danced down the streets of Tel Aviv. Many had never seen such an event before, but the joy was contagious.

The scroll was donated to the Rosh Yehudi (lit. Jewish Mindset) organization, a group dedicated to Jewish outreach to the modern, trendy Tel Aviv population. The donor is Chaim Avrahami, a long-time resident of Los Angeles and now of Tel Aviv. Speaking on the backdrop of joyous music and dancing by Jews of all types, Avrahami summed up by saying, "This Torah scroll was supposed to go to US Jewry, but then we decided that the best thing would be to leave it here in Israel, with the Rosh Yehudi group - and then Torah will bring all the Jews to Israel!"

Rosh Yehudi, headed by Israel Zeira, is headquartered in the Nachalat Yitzchak neighborhood in Tel Aviv, just off central Tel Aviv's Dizengoff Square. Its prayer services in the local synagogue will now be enhanced by its new Torah scroll.

"I see this as something special, something holy - and it's great!" one not-religious woman told NRG in the video above.

Rosh Yehudi conducts Torah classes, arranges study partners for those who want, runs regular prayer services, and more.

One young man says, "I came to Tel Aviv about a year ago, and since then I got hooked on Rosh Yehudi -- they're essentially my family here... I spend almost every Shabbat with them, and holidays too..."

Another young woman, apparently on her way to full religious observance, said, "This is exactly what I dreamed about - Judaism that is Orthodox, but also accepts every Jew exactly as he is... They talk in a new-age style, but Torah is Torah and the truth is truth... Everyone takes what he wants, based on where he is. It's really great."

One Rosh Yehudi member said, "When you see all the youths jumping and dancing [at this procession], even inside passing buses [and on porches of homes] - apparently they feel they're missing just a little bit of Judaism..."

Zeira told Arutz-7, "As opposed to the common perception, the people of Israel love G-d, love Torah and love Judaism, and the moment they are given the opportunity, the true heart comes out. This is the real Tel Aviv."

If You Want to Help Our Soldiers...

I had hoped to find a website that was leading the way to fight for the release of our kidnapped soldiers, but mostly they were sites for sending petitions and asking for donations to help. They do help, but I was looking for something that was more proactive. Something that would put direct pressure everyday on our officials to act. becasue we KNOW that constant public pressure WORKS! It may not produce the results we want, but it definitely gets the politician's attention and they have to somehow deal with the issue, and can't put it on the back burner.

In any case, I did find some interesting things and I will post it here. Till I find more, let's try to do everything we can to help our kidnapped soldiers. Right now, as we are reading this, we have our soldiers either sitting in a cold dark cell, or G-d forbid being tortured for information. We are all sitting in front of our computers in heated homes, with food in our fridge, and our kids free and safe. I will probably ask you to do more, but for now, let's at least send a fax or make a phone call to the United Nations to press them to get word on our soldiers, whether they are dead or alive, whether they are hurt, etc. The israeli government cannot get in to see our soldiers but the UN and red cross can. Let's press them to do so!

What Many Moslems Don't Want You To See

Today I had Brigitte Gabriel on my radio show (Sunday Oct. 15th) where she spoke about the deFacto 'censoring' of what we in the West can see. Apparently, a video of news photos from murder scenes perpetrated by Moslems against 'non-believers' was put up on YOUTUBE, and after a few 'flaggings', (by Moslems?) the video was taken down and is now unavailable to view there. Brigitte has been kind enough to send me the link of the video that THEY don't want us to see.

Though this photo here above, does not appear in the video that was removed from YOUTUBE, (it is some religious ceremony they do, where they all cut their heads with knives and march down the streets screaming. ) we can see what type of culture is at war with us, --one where mothers cut their own babies, and encourage their children to strap bombs to themselves later on, to murder and cause more misery in the world.

These pictures should get more publicity. The crimes of fanatical Moslems and the murders they commit need to be seen. If some angry Moslems can object to the truth being shown, and get YOUTUBE to remove photographic evidence of their crimes, we are all in trouble.

In this weekly portion of the Torah Moshe gives all of Israel a song that tells of the ups and downs of Jewish life until finally the Redemption comes. After finishing the song G-d tells Moshe to “Ascend to this mountain . . . and die on the mountain where you will ascend . . ..”

There is a strict rule in learning Torah that every letter is crucial. This means that nothing can be extraneous. Each word must come to teach us something or it would not be there. So what is the purpose for these seemingly extra words, “on the mountain where you will ascend?” The Torah could have simply said, “Ascend to this mountain . . . and die there.” “Die on the mountain where you will ascend,” teaches the essential lesson in life that we all die on the mountain that we climb. This means that during our lifetime we climb a mountain day by day. We get higher and higher as we grow more and more. Our good deeds cause us to ascend higher and our bad deeds either prevent us from going higher, or even worse, depending on the deed, can cause us to slip and fall lower. Then, when we pass into the next world we die at the height we were able to accomplish while we were here.

What difference does it make how high we are when we go into the next world? Know that “high” and “low” are really metaphors describing in human terms the concept of spiritual capacity. In fact, all talk of the world to come is metaphoric. Our “capacity” means that our spiritual position in the next world is fixed according to our ability to receive the spiritual light that will accompany that Wondrous Revelation. The more holiness we bring into our lives while we are here, the greater will our capacity be to withstand the Brightness there. If we are used to holiness we will be able to go right into that Great Brightness as Moshe walked into the Cloud of Glory when it was on Mt. Sinai. But if we are used to sinning while we are here on Earth our eyes will squint horribly at the Bright Light and we will be forced away as were the Jews at the bottom of the Mountain.

The most wonderful thing about living a holy life, even without considering the reward that is in store for us in the next world, is that our physical life in this world is better. When we walk with G-d in our mind we walk erect and happy. When we walk with only the physical on our mind we will stoop with its weight. When we live a spiritual life we look for opportunities to give. When we live only in the physical world we look for opportunities to take.

It is a well-publicized fact that religious families live happier and longer lives than nonreligious families. Even without thinking of the Great Reward that is surely coming, living a spiritual life gives us the most joy even while we are here.

I highly reccomend Gutman's book called, "Coming Back to Earth" it is in Hard Cover, has photos, and was an easy read, about Gutman's life as a "Hippie-to Guru- to Religious Jew" and filled with true stories that are inspirational, make you laugh, make you cry, and make you want to meet him! He is a also a musician, (see his CDs) and an author, as well as a master at meditation. He lives today in Jerusalem's Old City, and you can probably find him afternoons wrapping teffilin on Jews at the Western Wall (the Kotel) who have never expereinced this mitzvah before.

Power To The People !!!!

Ok, I admit it. This radio show host with all the talking I do, does not like to make phone calls. It makes me nervous calling official places, but what would I say to HaShem when I face Him in Heaven when I die, (until 120 in good health and happiness please ;-) ) and G-d says t o me, "Tamar, you prayed for the release of Jonathan Pollard every morning in your prayers", (yes, I do this) "but when an opportunity came for you to actually ACT on what you pray for, you didn't do it for the 'fear' of calling these 'dens of power'. Who do you fear more, these politicians serving the public, or Me, G-d?" What would I say? And since it is a coming New Year, and we shall all be judged, and we all want to see this last year as one of some growth, of conquering our fears, I decided I MUST do this (really, faxes are soooooo much easier for me. )

Well, I did it. I called the White House and I called the senators, and really, each call was so short and so easy, about thirty seconds each. They both asked me what city I was calling from and what my message was to them. It took me less than a minute to do and I felt really good, not just about what I did, but I felt good about myself, that i GREW and did something that scared me, and something that I would normally not do, as it is 'not my personality' to do things like this. Well, I did it, and I am happy i did, and am kind of proud of myself for it. It may not be a big thing for others to do, but only I know how hard it was for me. And I did it! I hope you will too. Perhaps this simple and quick act will also free Jonathan Pollard. And you will be responsible for doing so!

*As the Jewish People prepare to usher in the New Year 5767 we all pray for a good, healthy, peaceful, prosperous and happy new year. For many of us, our prayers may include a request for the release of our brother, Jonathan Pollard, who will shortly enter his 22nd year of a life sentence for his activities on behalf of the security of Israel. Yet how many of us realize how significant Pollard's fate is to the fate of us all?Our tradition teaches that the souls of all Israel are indelibly linked (chaverim kol Yisrael) and that we are all responsible for each other (kol Yisrael arevim zeh lih zeh.) Thus, whether one is aware of it or not, the plight of our brother, Jonathan, has a direct impact on our prognosis for the New Year 5767, both individually and as a nation.

Ponder the following.Did you know that Jonathan Pollard is in an American prison because he spied for the benefit of Israel, and is slowly bleeding to death before our very eyes, and no one knows how much time remains, and that every single day that he is there, we are, everyone of us, liable for the sin of "Al ta'amod al dam re'eycha. Do not stand idly by your brother's blood."? Did you know that Jonathan Pollard did not do damage to the United States, but rather gave us information about Iranian, Iraqi, Libyan and Syrian nuclear, chemical, and biological warfare capabilities - all being developed for use against Israel; and information on ballistic missile development by these countries; as well as information on up-coming terrorist attacks planned against Israeli civilian targets. This was information which should have been supplied to Israel according to official US policy at the time, but which was being illegally withheld.

Because Pollard relayed the information to us, he saved thousands of lives. Did you know that every single day that he remains in prison, we are liable for the sin of: ""If you refrain from rescuing those who are taken to death and those on the verge of being slain---and you will claim "But, we did not know about this."? The following WAS an appeal from Nadia Matar - And Now, Tirzah has been released!

Nadia wrote an article which was passed around emails and posted on various sites and blogs like this one: "Very few people are up to date concerning the case of Tirzah Sariel, a 15 -year-old girl from Samaria, who has been in jail for two and a half months. I want to describe her case, so that we will take joint, and immediate, action to release Tirzah from the Nevei Tirzah prison.

About ten months ago there was an incident involving several Jewish girls and Arab olive harvesters. The Arabs claimed that the girls - how horrible - poured a bucket full of olives on the ground. The police naturally believed the Arabs and wanted to arrest one of the girls. The rest of the girls, including Tirzah Sariel, protested against the arrest attempt, and told the police: "Arrest us, too," and so six girls were arrested. They were released a few days later, and a case was opened against all of them, with no end of false accusations. Tirzah announced that she would not appear for the court proceedings because she does not recognize the court's authority, as long as the judicial system does not operate in accordance with the laws of the Torah.

Before the beginning of the trial, two and a half months ago, they came to arrest Tirzah. It was decided that, since she does not cooperate with the system and would not appear for the hearings of her own free will, she must remain in custody until the end of the judicial proceedings. The law dictates that when a trial is underway and the defendant is incarcerated, the judge must speed up the proceedings and prevent the defendant from remaining in jail for a long time before the trial. The judge in Tirzah's case, Justice Uri Ben-Dor, however, did not act in accordance with this law, and decided that the next hearing in Tirzah's trial would be held four months later. In other words, Justice Uri Ben-Dor ruled that a fifteen-year-old girl will remain in jail for four months, just to wait for the next session of the trial. Even the prosecutor jumped up and said: "Just a minute, we are talking about a 15-year-old child who is sitting in jail, we must accelerate the proceedings." Justice Ben-Dor replied: "That is of no interest to me." Ben-Dor also made sure to express what he thinks about the Land of Israel loyalist public when he said: "You [settlers] are a public that knows to take all the time, but does not know how to give." With such a political and racist statement, it is no wonder that he is acting against a girl who lives in a settlement in Samaria.

Tirzah has already been incarcerated for two and a half months in the Russian Compound in Jerusalem...."

Dozens of protest faxes apparently did the trick, and Tirtzah Sariel, 15, was abruptly feed from prison today, after weeks of wrongful imprisonment.
Her parents were notified last night that she would be brought to the District Court in Jerusalem this morning at 10:30, before Justice Noam Solberg. The case had been running until now in the lower-level Magistrates Court. Tirtzah's next scheduled court date, as of yesterday, was several weeks from now, well after the Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah holidays. Until then, she was to have remained in prison - for having fought with Arab olive-pickers.

Justice Solberg ruled today that the girl must be immediately freed from jail - but the prosecution asked for 24 hours in which to appeal the decision. Shmuel Medad, head of the Honenu civil rights organization, predicted that it was possible the request would be withdrawn shortly afterwards, and within an hour, he was proved right. The judge said that even were Tirtzah to be convicted of the crime of which she was originally arrested for - pouring out an Arab bucket of olives - she would have sat in prison for less time than she has already been there.

Tirtzah refused to sign any papers in connection with the case, saying she does not recognize a Jewish court system that does not operate according to Jewish Law.Tirtzah's mothe, who was present at the court hearing, told Arutz-7 afterwards, "The prosecutor, in a last-ditch attempt to save face for the Prosecution, gave a whole lecture saying that she had to be punished for not recognizing the court system. It just shows that she was in prison for two and a half months all because she has different opinions than they do!"

An impromptu welcome-home party will be held at Tirtzah's home in Elon Moreh, with many of her friends who visited and spoke to her by phone in prison over the past weeks. Nadia Matar, co-founder of Women in Green, wrote an article on Arutz-7's Hebrew website last week, calling for faxes to be sent to the Commission of Public Complaints against Judges. Matar explained, "We must complain that Justice Ori Ben-Dor acted unlawfully by not speeding up the legal proceeding in the case, and by allowing a 15-year-old girl to rot in prison for four months until the next scheduled court session." Even the prosecutor in the case said, at a recent session, that a four-month hiatus before the next session was too long for a 15-year-old girl, but the judge said, "I'm not interested."

The 'Jewish Hillbilly' in an Israeli Jail

Jeffrey, was someone that I interviewed a while back on my show that made aliyah to Israel.
I interviewed him because of his fascinating background and stories he had to tell, about growing up as a hillbilly in North Carolina, and his Jewish roots and spiritual Journey.

Jeffrey is now sitting in an Israeli jail waiting trial for apparently (to my understanding) shipping to Israel with his belongings, one of his guns he had legally, in the USA. When authorities checked his belongings, they found his gun and they arrested him. One has to have a licence in Israel to own a gun, it doesn't matter what the laws were in America.Jeffrey, being new to the country has no friends or family here. We have all kind of adopted him and try our best to visit him in jail in Ashekelon.

Would you all do a big mitzvah (good deed, act of kindness) and please drop a card or a letter to Jeffrey saying that you are praying for him and that he will be released soon and go on to live his life in peace and happiness? War Diary 5 -oops -It's a Cease-Fire

Well, I was interviewed on the BBC the other night. I was surprised they contacted me, as I didn't know they knew about my radio program. Perhaps a listener from Britain told them to interview me on the situation in Israel? In any case, knowing how they can be pretty slanted in their reporting on Israel, I got ready for the interview, trying to find some 'love in my heart' for those who don't have much of it for us. I wanted to go LIVE, but they wanted to be able to edit what I said and I knew that was pretty dangerous. After the interview, a few hours later the interview was aired and uploaded to their web site. I think it turned out alright. If I can find a way to post the interview here, I will. Check back in a few days.

The atmosphere here in Israel is a bit antsy now. People don't hold much hope for this cease-fire. We pretty much expect another war within the next year, with the Hizbullah attacking us once again. We see this cease-fire simply as the Hizzbullah re-grouping and re-arming. One of the interviews on the BBC right before mine was with one of the heads of the UNIFIL, General Alain Pellegrini. He was asked how the UNIFIL troops would stop the Hizzbullah from opening an attack on Israel from southern Lebanon where they are stationed. His reply was that they would call upon both sides and BEG them to stop. He said that the UNIFIL was not strong enough to intervene and stop the violence. Well, there goes any confidence with any foreign troops! -- not that anyone is surprised.

Now comes the fights in the government to point fingers at everyone else as to avoid the blame themselves. This is the fun time if you are a news watcher. We see all the 'talking heads' blah blah blah-ing away on who is responsible and why. We are seeing a few scandals coming out now, like Chaim Ramon, being accused of improper behavior with some female worker, and then there is the newest scandal of our Army's Chief of Staff, Dan Chalutz running to sell his stocks a few hours before we went to war. ---Maybe not illegal, but definitely not in good taste. i wonder if the BIG BOYS let this info out to steer away any finger pointing at the inept leadership of PM Olmert and Defense Minister Amir Peretz???? Good entertainment, and sometimes I make pop corn and watch and laugh.

I received this in my email, though I heard this story before. I thought I would share this with you. Please feel free to tell this story to others.

We are forwarding this translation of a Hebrew e-mail at the
request of friends of the late Major Roi Klein:
On Major Roi Klein (zl)of blessed memory)

The little that we can do for somebody who sacrificed his life in
such a heroic way is to tell his story. It is not clear why the media
ignored this story. Maybe his altruistic behaviour is unpopular or
maybe it does not fit with the image of the suffering, sensitive and
fearful soldier that some Israeli media are trying to nurture.
Last week, Major Roi Klein (z"l), lieutenant commander of Regiment
51 in the Golani Brigade, from Eli was the highest-ranking officer
among his troops at the time in the Lebanese town of Bint AlJubeil. In
the midst of a battle he noticed that Hizballah terrorists have lobbed
a grenade thatlanded close to his soldiers. Since the detonation of
the grenade was imminent. He leaped and blocked most of the
fragmentation from the grenade with his body, thereby saving his
troops. His soldiers said that he cried "Shma Israel" when he jumped
to block the grenade.

Roi Klein was buried on the day of his 31st? birthday.
He was a gifted Saxophone player and a brilliant academic that
completed his engineering studies with high honours. He traveled with
friends in Africa and had a rolling laughter. All of his friends
describe him as a gentle and relaxed soul. His widow's wish is that his
children would resemble their father when they grow up.

May his memory be blessed. Please do a good deed in honor of this hero,
Major Roi Klein, and his family who survives him.

Here is a list of some of the soldiers who were killed in this war, that you can choose from to do something in their honor. These boys will never be able to do 'mitzvahs' again. But we can do some for them. This is what is called 'ahavat yisrael' - loving one's fellow Jew. PLEASE, take on one small specific 'good deed' or mitzvah (commandment) in the name of one of these soldiers. If you like, leave me a message here of that you decided to do, and which soldier you'd like to do it for. Let's turn some of these tragedies into something positive for this world. In their memories. When doing this good deed, mentally or physically say, "I am doing this mitzvah in the 'zechut' - in the honor of- (add name of soldier) . By doing this, we are elevating this world, tipping the cales in our favor, and using evil in this world, to amke us all better.

Photos You Probably Never Saw

The Arabs with much of the world media, want to make the IDF out to be callous and cold blooded killers. Yet THEY aim their missles at our civilians, while we strike only at Hizzbullah terror targets.

8th of Av 5766

It's erev Tisha B'Av ( The Jewish Day where much evil has befallen the Jewish People, and we lost our two Holy Temples.) I can't help but have this eerie feeling that in the next 24 hours, something will get worse on the home front for Israel. But I will ignore this gnawing feeling and concentrate on what has happened in the past, and hope for a better future. This morning I drove into the city with my husband on a mission to purchase items for the Israeli northern families who are today refugees. Many of them ran in their cars to flee the bombs and rockets slamming into their homes. They didn't have time to take things with them.

Our community has absorbed at least twenty families from the north, many with 5 children or more. Last week my husband and I made a visit to where these families are staying. We knew they needed things so we went up with clothes, toaster ovens, even a TV for them to watch the news if they wanted. "Oh", they said. "How nice, thank you. You know, everyone we meet here keeps asking us if we need something, but really, we don't need anything right now. We already were given pots and pans, plus sheets and towels. We really are fine now."A few days later, word came out that the children from the north don't have anything to play with, to keep them busy, except for going to the playground, and it gets hot midday. Then, I got an email that someone wanted to donate some money to purchase things for the refugee children.So, we went to work. After numerous phone calls to cell phones given to me by some of the central people who have already helped these families, I called to ask what they or their kids might need. Phone call after phone call, "No, we really have enough for the moment". And then they told me, "Anyway, we are planning to go back home on Sunday. We think things have quieted down and we plan to leave then." This was the sentiment of the majority of families I spoke with. Somehow, I think they will be here longer. I spoke to them in the morning. ....It is now close to evening time, and since then, over 150 rockets have slammed into the northern communities once again in a barrage of whistling explosions.

The residents of the north are back in the bomb shelters again. It's stuffy and hot down there. But its hotter ouside, with the raining katyushas. Though my sister in law is still not taking us up on our offer to host her and her kids (she is tough), others have found their way to families inside their homes. One is an old army buddy of mine, and he happens to live in the same city as my sister in law, near Haifa. he said, "There is no more of what we knew up there". The cities have absorbed so much impact (The northern city of Tzfat with its quaint cobblestone streets and old city/artists section, has absorbed HUNDREDS of Katyushas. ) Many of the buildings, the gardens, the pasture land with cattle (many cattle hit) have been smashed and demolished. Thousands of families will not have apartments and buisnesses to go back to. They are homeless. More later, for 'War Diary'. Have a meaningful and easy fast.

It's Not Tit For Tat

Although I have been receiving numerous emails from people praying for Israel and sending us blessings from accross the globe, I've also received a couple of letters 'unsympathetic' to Israel saying that we are like 'nazis' in the way we are fighting the Hizzbullah terrorists in Lebanon. Some of the emails were quite cutting from people who have never even met me. I wonder what goes on in their minds that they feel they can write me, a stranger, such attacking emails. After hurling blame on Israel, they ended their emails with, "You guys just have to learn to sit at the table and work things out, but you can't go bombing a whole country and innocent people. Shame, shame, shame on you!" they wrote. I wonder, did they bother to send this same letter to the Hizzbullah? I think not. How naive and coarse they can be. It's like they have been ignoring the history of the region, where the Jews have constantly stretched our hands out for peace, only to have it sliced off in its attempts. What was Oslo but not a drastic (foolish and deadly as well) attempt to not only sit down at the table with terrorists, but also gave them land, a government, and weapons and training to build a police force (which became a terror army), when all they did was to agree to negotiate and not use violence any more, to further their goals. Israel made all the sacrifices, the terrorists, fed on it and demanded more, and spilled more blood.

Today the naive and sleepy ones are ranting that Israel is the one who does not make attempts at peace, and that it is us destroying a whole country (Lebanon). Never mind the decades of terror (hear the 4 part interview with Brigitte, a Lebanese Arab woman) and threats on the Lebanese people and Lebanese government from the fanatical Moslem terrorists.

The terrorists use the cowardly tactic of using civilians as shields. They store their weapons to kill and then shoot from places like their own mosques at Israel knowing that we respect places of worship and won't shoot back. A few U.N. troops were killed as well this way, with the Hizzbullah firing rockets from UN positions and then leaving the people in the area as the recipients of return fire. Well, this piece came my way and I thought I would post it for you, to show the difference between Israel and these Moslem terrorists in general:

Regarding the claims that Israel is smashing Lebanon indiscriminately, take a look at this map below showing the strategically targeted places that Israel has gone after to destroy the terrorist infrastructure. While the terrorist AIM for our towns and villages to kill as many civilians as possible, Israel has been careful to pin point only what is needed in order to destroy terror bases. Please feel free to pass this piece of information along. I don't know who to give credit to with this map, but it has brought some perspective and clarity to the real picture.

DEVESTATION? WHAT DEVASTATION?
The picture above is a map of Beirut. The blacked-out areas are those that have been bombed by Israel. As you can see, Israel's pin-point bombing is limited and highly targeted and does not represent 'mass destruction' as it is being described in the UN and world press.

At least 1,400 Katyushas have slammed into Israel's northern towns and cities in the last 2 1/2 weeks. Residential buildings, homes, farms (numerous cattle have been blown up and splattered in their grazing feilds) and the Hizzbullah promises more. This time, with more powerful missiles , and to cities deeper into Israel.

And yet, as much destruction as we have recieved, our death toll is far below what it should be. The G- of Israel watches over His people.

War Diary 1

We are watching the news now, all the time, and I mean, ALL the time. I was speaking to my sister in law who lives right near Haifa, and all of a sudden, I heard the air raid sirens go off in the back ground by her, and she had to hang up and run for shelter with her three children. She heard the 'booms' and has to run about 9 times a day to shelter from the Katyusha rockets coming her way. A man was killed just a mile away from her home outside in the street. So, as you can imagine, things here are very hectic and now Nasrallah says he will hit us with more rockets to cities deeper into Israel, south of Haifa. I have a room prepared for her and her husband and kids. Judea and Samaria used to be the place where some people wouldn't come to visit for fear of being shot on the roads by Arabs. Today, families from Israel are flocking here, and we have already absorbed numerous familes from the North. The country is uniting, as we usually do in war time. Bombs can fly, but it is still good to be in Israel. I am so glad I am here with my people, and wouldn't be anywhere else.

Some people think our leaders are weak, some think they are naive or even stupid. I disagree. Our leaders are highly educated people but I fear they lack high morals, and a fear of G-d. Wanting so much to be accepted in the world, they bend over backwards to the detriment of their own people and Jewish values. I believe our leaders have caved in and have been convinced that we cannot exist without the help of the international community (unlike the moslem world which refuses to sell out to 'comfort and acceptance, since it seems they have no value or desire for either.

After all, who are our government leaders in Israel, the USA, and all the free world? They are simply men and women like you and I who get campaign contributions to get elected to office. Along the way campaign contributors call in favors, twist arms, etc to get their 'investment' out of them. Anyone can be bribed, or pressured, or even blackmailed to get an agenda done.

2) Casinos, and loss of sovereignty for Israel... Establishment (of) Middle East Free Trade Area would provide hope for Palestinians - not Jews (my insert) The plan was all set in place for Gush Katif. Dirty deals of throwing people out of their homes, to enable a free trade area with casinos were planned, but the surprise election of the Hamas is slowing down the process. That's why America doesn't want to deal with the Hamas, not because they are terrorists, becasue Arafat and Mazen and the whole FATAH are also terrorists (but they were nicer suits), but the problem is, that the HAMAS terrorists are more religious, and they are not interested in the 'Material' world, prosperity, comfort, etc. They hate the West and are not playing ball with the West. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3118212,00.html
